XC Mountain Bike & Trail Running Races

August 12, 2017

41 km ~ Ride Only

The signature race of the iDIDaRide Kaslo, though no longer the unforgettable 100 km challenge that Kaslo has become famous for, will be 41 km in length. Guaranteed to challenge all your riding skills. The course will increase in length each year as new trail is prepared and tied into our ever expanding network. This year the 41 km event is bike only.

20 km and 8.5 km ~ Ride or Run

The 20 km Ride is perfect for those looking for a great riding adventure, but not quite ready for an endurance challenge.
The 20 km Run follows the exact same trail and will be a rewarding challenge for the trail runner.

The iDIDaRide 8.5 is suitable for all ages and abilities – people who are looking for a short time commitment with a little bit of a challenge. It is mostly just a nice ride.
As an 8.5 km Run, the course may be a sprint for some, and for others a nice easy workout that follows some of Kaslo’s beautiful River Trail.

iDIDaRide Run

is a spinoff from Kaslo SufferFest, the event which launched Kaslo into the world of mountain biking and trail running races in 2010. SufferFest was hosted in Kaslo for 4 years, and was the introduction for many people to our beautiful network of mountain roads, trails and paths. After Sufferfest’s Race Director moved to Nakusp in 2013, and the name changed to Kootenay SufferFest, Kaslo’s events were taken over by a dedicated group of Kaslo volunteers, who continued to run the event as envisioned by the original organizer. After the 2016 races, it was decided by all interested groups that Kaslo would splinter off from SufferFest and just focus on what we had to offer locally. iDIDaRide is hosted by the Kaslo Mountain Bike Club, in association with KORS (Kaslo Outdoor Recreation Society)

We changed the weekend from the Labour Day holiday weekend to the weekend closest to Kaslo’s August 14 birthday. Race day this year is August 12.

Renewed and renamed ~ same high standards.

iDIDaRide Run Kaslo is the event’s new name – and yes, it is named after the epic dog sled race in Alaska, the Iditarod. Kaslo is well known for its organizing capabilities and we’ve planned several challenging and fun point-2-point races for you to choose from.  The 41 km BIKE course has 3 fully stocked aid stations and there is one at the halfway mark on the 20 km BIKE and RUN course, while the 8.5s have none. We’ll help to keep you as comfortable as possible as you strive for your personal best!
